RULES FOR HALL OF FAME
1. In honor of the service rendered to Fairs and Celebrations in the Heartland Association of Fairs, Festivals & Events, an award is given to a person or persons for distinguished achievements in, or contributions to the Fairs, Festivals and Events in the Heartland area.
2. Each award shall consist of a plaque and/or other appropriate award. Hall of Fame recipients will also have their picture and a one-page article describing their accomplishments placed in a permanent record.
3. The presentation of the awards will be made at such times as the association meets at their annual convention.

ELIGIBILITY
4. Conditions of Eligibility are as follows:
• The original inductees to the Fair’s Hall of Fame are those persons selected by the Hall of Fame committee for service given to a Fair, Celebration, or the Heartland Association prior to the inception of the Hall of Fame Award.
• Nominations may be made for the Hall of Fame award by any director or officer of a Fair, Festival or Event that is a member of the Heartland Association, by an Associate of the Heartland Association or a Director or Officer of the Heartland Association of Fairs, Festivals and Events
• Hall of Fame recipients shall have been identified with Fairs or Celebrations for a minimum of ten years.
• The nominees shall have made outstanding contributions to Fairs, Festivals or Events through their organization and through the Heartland Association of Fairs and Celebrations.

NOMINATIONS
6. The procedure to be followed by the Hall of Fame Committee in the selection of recipients shall be as follows:
• The Association members shall be notified in writing when nominations are being received. The date the nominations are due will be set by the committee. A nomination form for the award will be mailed to every active and associate member of the Association.
• The Hall of Fame Committee will review all nominations received and vote for the recipient or recipients.
The committee may choose on number of recipients.
• It shall be the duty of the Secretary of the Association to purchase the appropriate awards. All records are to be kept by the Secretary of the Association who will act as custodian of these records.
7. All questions coming before the Hall of Fame Committee of the Association shall be decided by a majority vote of this committee.
8. The Hall of Fame Committee shall have the authority to decide any questions not specifically covered by these rules.

NOMINATION FOR HALL OF FAME AWARD
This form must be completed in full and contain sufficient information documenting the Nominee’s contributions and achievements to determine the candidate’s worthiness to receive the Award.
